BUSSABA MASSAGE KHAO LAK
MASSAGE SERVICES AVAILABLE
There are many different styles of massage practiced by cultures from all over the world. Common to many of them is the understanding that, through the touch of hands on a body, there is a definitive healing capacity. This capacity is not limited to just the relief of pain, or even to reduce levels of stress in order to bring about a state of deep relaxation. Rather, there is a sense that one’s spiritual development is also significantly enhanced. For example, the roots of the Thai style of body-work is believed to go back thousands of years, perhaps even originating with the treatment of the Buddha himself. Since those early times, the method is likely to have changed in accordance with influences from several other Asian and Southeast Asian cultures.
BODY SCRUB NOW AVAILABLE
The use of oil in body-work treatments, on the other hand, is widely used throughout the West. Many different styles and techniques have been utilized, such as Swedish and Hawaiian. An assortment of different healing environments, such as aquatic body-work which is performed in water pools or baths, has also been incorporated into healing regimes.
At Bussaba Massage Khao Lak, some of the several options offered are listed below. Prices range from 300 baht to 600 baht for a 1 hour treatment, as well as a body scrub/oil massage that lasts 90 minutes and costs 800 baht. Choose one according to your inclination at the time, and enjoy the full effects. And don’t forget to ask for a strong massage if that is your inclination!
Full-Body Oil Massage
price: 400 baht/hr
The full-body oil massage is the most popular form of massage for Westerners. At Bussaba Massage, the session starts with the client lying on their stomach. The feet, legs, back , neck and arms are then kneaded. After the client turns over, the masseuse again works up the body, which includes a chest rub and a most exquisite palm-of-hand and finger massage. The client is then treated to a head and face massage followed by finishing touches to the back and shoulders in the sitting-up position. Not to be missed!
Thai Massage
300 baht/hr
In contrast to the Swedish-type oil massage, Thai massage does not use oils. The Thai massage procedure itself is believed to be derived, at least in part, from the Indian Ayurvedic tradition of holistic health-care. The whole-body is systematically massaged, manipulated and stretched beginning with the feet, then working up to the head. In particular, the muscles and joints are stretched in a similar way to that experienced in yoga.
Sports Massage
price: 500 baht/hr
The sports massage is similar to the whole-body oil massage, but it focuses on parts of the body that need particular attention because of tightness or soreness. Generally, the knead is stronger and more repetitive, in order to get into the core of the muscles. Manipulation of the joints is also used to improve musculoskeletal movement. One often leaves the premises in a state of bliss!
Back and Shoulder Massage
price: 400 baht/hr
The back and shoulders are particularly prone to stress and fatigue, often as a result of poor posture. They are also prone to wear and tear, especially the joints of the back. It is not possible to properly massage them yourself, so letting a qualified masseuse do it for you is indeed treating yourself to a luxurious indulgence! The overall effect is one of great relaxation.
Head Massage
price: 400 baht/hr
The head is a particularly important and sensitive part of the body. It is not often considered by people to be an organ that can be massaged. However, massaging the scalp improves its condition by preventing dryness and flaking, and it increases blood circulation. A head massage also includes attending to the eyes, mouth, temples and the nose and cheek areas. It is more relaxing than what one might anticipate!
Foot Massage
price: 300 baht/hr
The feet are an integral part of the human anatomy, carrying the entire weight of the body for several kms every day. A foot massage is a wonderful way to relieve any resulting stress. Manipulation of the foot also loosens the joints, providing the muscles and tendons much needed stretching. Moreover, kneading the soles of the feet, as well as the toes, provides one with exquisitely pleasant sensations.
